Cap-assisted endoscopic sclerotherapy for hemorrhage of internal hemorrhoids

Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of cap-assisted endoscopic sclerotherapy in the treatment of internal hemorrhoid hemorrhage.

Methods

There is a retrospective analysis of the clinical data of 56 patients with internal hemorrhoid hemorrhage treated with cap-assisted endoscopic sclerotherapy in the Shuangkuang Hospital of Shuangyashan Heilongjiang Province from August 2018 to October 2019, and observed it′s success rate of hemostasis in the first sclerotherapy, anal pain for intraoperative and postoperative, and patient satisfaction, etc.

Results

Success rate of hemostasis in the first sclerotherapy was 89.2% (50/56). Before observeing 6 months after the operation, we found 41 cases reached the recovery standard and 14 cases improved.The total effective rate was 98.2% (55/56). Pain conditions during treatment: 42 cases (64.6%) with no pain, 12 cases (21.4%) with slight pain, and 2 cases (3.5%) with intense pain. 48 hours after operation: 53 cases (94.6%) with no pain, 3 cases (5.3%) with defecation pain, and 0 with persistent pain.Patient satisfaction 42 cases were very satisfied (75%), 11 cases were satisfied (19.6%), 2 cases were dissatisfied (3.5%), and 1 case was very dissatisfied (1.7%).

Conclusion

Cap-assisted endoscopic sclerotherapy for the treatment of internal hemorrhoid hemorrhage has the advantages below: high success rate of treatment for the first time , safety and reliability, and high patient satisfaction. it is worth widely developing and applying to the clinic.
