Abstract:

Objective

Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) has become an established method for superficial neoplasm in digestive tract. However, there existed challenges in the procedures of ESD for superficial esophageal squamous cell neoplasm because of the narrow space. This study aimed to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of ESD with magnetic anchor technique (MAT) for superficial esophageal squamous cell neoplasm.

Method

Between April 2020 and June 2020, a total of 5 patients with superficial esophageal squamous cell neoplasm underwent ESD with MAT in our center, and related data was collected prospectively.

Results

For the five procedures of ESD with MAT, both complete dissection and en bloc resection rates were 100%, and R0 resection rate was 80%. No serous adverse events were encountered.

Conclusion

ESD with MAT was effective and feasible for superficial esophageal squamous cell neoplasm although further studies with larger sample size were needed.
