Abstract:

Objective

To compare the clinical application effect of placing jejunum nutrition tube by the improved method and the ordinary method.

Methods

From Jun 2019 to Dec. 2019, there were 67 patients who need jejunum nutrition tube by the improved and the ordinary methods. We recorded the operation time, achievement ratio, and tube displacement ratio and compared the data.

Results

The jejunum nutrition tubes were successfully placed by the ordinary method. The success rate was 92.9% and the mean time cost was 20.12 min.In the improved group, the success rate was 100%, and mean time cost was 10.42 min. There was a statistically significant difference in mean time cost between the ordinary and the improved methods(P<0.005). There was no statistically significant difference in the age and the mean time between these two groups(P=0.875).

Conclusions

The improved jejunal nutrition tube technology can effectively shorten the time of tube placement and increase the success rate of tube placement without increasing the cost of children. It is suitable for children of all ages and provides support for enteral nutrition in children with acute illness.
