Abstract:

To date, the accurate diagnosis of indeterminate biliary lesions (IBS) presents a diagnostic challenge in differentiating neoplastic and benign lesions. However, the accurate diagnosis of IBS lesions has significant implications for the treatment and management of these lesions. Super minimally invasive cholangioscopy examination allows for direct visualization of biliary lesions and has been shown to improve diagnostic accuracy when compared with ERCP alone. However, visual criteria to make an accurate diagnosis for IBS remains limited because of the image quality. Recently, the image quality of peroral cholangioscope has improved significantly, and thus we proposed a new visual criteria for IBS in order to further increase the diagnostic accuracy of IBS.
