Abstract:

Food intolerance (FI) refers to discomfort triggered by food or its components at doses tolerated by the general population, with an incidence of approximately 15%-45%.Most patients are asymptomatic, manifesting only as abnormal serum food-specific immunoglobulin (Ig) G detection, suggesting that FI may be an immune-related condition. The intestinal immune microenvironment (IIME), composed of intestinal epithelial cells, various immune cells, immune regulatory factors, and the microbiota, plays a crucial role in maintaining intestinal health and overall immune function. Recent studies have indicated that FI patients may experience alterations in the number and activity of intestinal immune cells, as well as changes in the expression of secreted immune regulatory factors. This review summarizes the research progress on the correlation between IgG-related FI and IIME.
